Foundation For Children In Need- Mission Appeal 2024

Written by Bridget Klawitter, Pastoral Associate

The Mission Office of our Archdiocese each Summer invites a missionary group to share about their mission work in parishes. Next weekend, April 27-28, we will have guest speakers at all the Masses describing their work for our annual mission appeal.

The Foundation for Children in Need (FCN) is a not-for-profit Catholic lay organization founded in 2002 and based in Arlington Heights, IL. Dr. Geetha and Tom Chitta, founders of FCN will be visiting us from India to share about their mission work in the interior villages of India. FCN sponsors 2000 children and college students and 60 elderly, providing free medical check-ups and medicine to thousands of needy people and children. FCN has established several schools, a few boarding homes for children, as well as serving the needy in rural areas of India. Approximately 2000 children born with Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate have been helped with free corrective surgeries in just the past nine years. Contributions directly benefit the destitute, the elderly, very poor families who cannot bring their children for surgeries, physically challenged individuals, and students from rural villages who seek an education. To know more about their mission work, please visit: fcn-usa.org. You may also see videos about their missionary work which are posted on our website and Facebook pages.

Next weekend, please give a warm welcome to Dr. Geetha and Tom as they will share a bit about their work at all our Masses. Mission Appeal envelopes will be available in the Gathering Space kiosk or from the ushers to place donations in the collection basket. You may also donate on-line directly to the FCN Mission Appeal at spof-mke.givingfuel.com/foundation-for-children-in-need.

We welcome Dr. Geetha and Tom and encourage you to support their work generously.
