NEWS FLASH January 2019:
St. Leonard School was just awarded a second grant from the Catholic Community Foundation that will go towards building our Guided Reading Library.  This one is for $11,000!!  We are thrilled and blessed for our teachers to have the resources they need to provide our students with reading materials to challenge students at their individual reading levels!  Many thanks to the Catholic Community Foundation for their generosity!

Thank you for taking the time to look up some information on St. Leonard School, serving the Muskego, Wisconsin community since 1958, providing education for grades K4-8 (and K3 beginning with the 2019-20 school year).  We welcome your child to a world of discovery where learning, respect, faith, and service are intertwined.  You will find high academic standards, a commitment to excellence, a welcoming school community, and teachers who care about your child’s educational and spiritual development.  St. Leonard students’ standardized test scores have been consistently higher than local, state, and national averages.  As a result, a significant number of graduates earn academic honors in high school. We are happy to share the most current results with you.  You'll find a link on the Curriculum page of our Website.

But school should stand for more than academic success.  I would like you to know that St. Leonard School takes pride in creating a community based on Catholic Christian values.  Our purpose is to educate the whole child: spiritually, morally, intellectually, socially, and physically.  Schools should also be protected spaces where students can develop the character and capabilities that make them fully participating citizens.  At St. Leonard School, you will find a warm, friendly atmosphere and talented students.  You will find superb teachers who will work closely with your child and encourage your child to do their best.  St. Leonard School has embraced a balanced set of goals that will help educate the whole child to produce healthy, fulfilled individuals.  At St. Leonard School you will find the following:

  • Academic Skills: in reading, writing, math, science, history, and geography, and in grades K4-8 a foreign language
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: analyzing information, applying ideas to new situations, and developing knowledge using computers
  • Social Skills and Work Ethic: communication skills, personal responsibility, and getting along with others from varied backgrounds
  • Citizenship: public ethics, knowing how government works, and participating by voting, volunteering, and becoming active in community life
  • Physical Health: good habits of exercise and nutrition
  • Emotional Health: self-confidence, respect for others, and the ability to resist peer pressure
  • The Arts and Literature: participation in and appreciation of musical, visual, and performing arts as well as love of literature
  • Spiritual Growth: a climate where virtue, morality, prayer, service to others, and Catholic Christian values are all fostered and nourished on a daily basis
