Philosophy of teaching

I strongly believe that every aspect of Social Studies, from history to current events, should be viewed within the lens of Catholic teaching, in order to best prepare students to become the modern-day disciples they are called to be.  Especially in today’s society, I see a deep need for equipping students with a strong knowledge in the rich history, traditions, and doctrine of Catholicism, as well as, the skills to live out and defend their faith in the modern world.

Hobbies and interests

I grew up in Illinois and attended Catholic school from fourth grade through college! I am the youngest of three (with one brother and one sister), and I have a very large extended family on both sides. I loved growing up with a lot of cousins who were like bonus siblings to me. I love spending time with my family, especially my nieces and nephews! In my free time, I enjoy reading, doing puzzles, biking, and taking walks and exploring trails.
