Philosophy of teaching

My educational philosophy centers on creating lifelong learners by supporting the whole child—addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs. I view the classroom as student-centered where every learner feels deeply valued and welcomed. By creating an inclusive culture, I can prioritize listening to the voices of hesitant students to build the self-confidence necessary for active participation.

Beyond emotional support, I am committed to measurable academic growth. I believe that when students feel secure, they are better able to meet high academic standards. I use interactive methods and differentiated instruction to make sure every student is challenged, bridging the gap between research-based strategies and real-world application. My approach is supported by proactive classroom management and positive relationship-building, creating an environment where accountability and curiosity thrive. Through collaboration with colleagues and a commitment to adaptable teaching, I want to lead every student toward their highest potential.

Hobbies and interests

When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy spending my time outdoors! You can usually find me going on long walks with my dog, Cooper, or playing sports with friends. Also in my free time, I cherish spending quality time with my family and relaxing with fun and exciting movies or shows. 

St. Leonard has been my home parish for over 20 years, so this community holds a truly special place in my heart! My goal every day is to create a safe, supportive, and joyful classroom where every child feels valued, encouraged to grow, and excited to learn.
