Matrimony is one of the sacraments of the Church. Not every marriage benefits from the grace of the Sacrament. Some marriages are civil unions. Some marriages are common law arrangements. A wedding in the Church is not just a nice setting, it is a commitment to a sacred lifestyle. As a sacred union, Matrimony is highly esteemed and carefully prepared for.
Marriage Preparation helps engaged couples assess their readiness. It is a requirement couples need to fulfill before they are married in the Church. Facilitators of the program are married couples belonging to the parish who have been trained by the Archdiocese. Meetings are held in their homes with the engaged couple. The facilitators may be both Catholic or inter-faith couples.
