Growing With God...A Capital Campaign for St. Leonard

Today is the official kick-off of the Growing with God Capital Campaign. We are thrilled to report to you our progress and next steps. We have spent the first 13 weeks of the campaign recruiting and training more than 50 volunteer families, from both the parish and the school, to assist us in this effort. In addition to offering their time and talent, our volunteers have already begun to make their initial gifts and pledges. Through the generosity of our volunteers and a handful of early pledges from parishioners like you, we have pledges totaling more than $600,000!

Thank you to everyone who has committed their prayers, time and their financial assistance thus far.

The campaign case statement was sent out earlier this week in the mail. If you have not yet received the booklet, please contact Nancy Kerns in the parish office. We ask that you carefully review the cover letter and contents of the booklet. It will answer many of your questions about the campaign and help you in considering your gift.

Reaching our goal will take the sacrifice of not just a few, but of everyone. In the near future, you may be contacted by one of our great volunteers about this campaign.   Please take the time to visit with them. They will not know the amount you are being asked to consider and they will not know what you decide to give. Our volunteers are donating their time and energy because they are passionate about the future of our parish.

The Campaign Thermometer is in the entrance of church.  This thermometer will track the success of the campaign.  Weekly bulletin announcements will also be provided so that the entire St. Leonard parish can stay informed.

We are seeking 100% participation from all St. Leonard Catholic Church and School families. We ask that you give serious consideration to making a commitment to our three-year effort.

As of April 20th, 83 pledge cards have ben received and we have approx. $600,000 in pledges!!  How exciting!

How did we determine the request amounts for each family?

Our request amounts are based upon a number of factors including both general and capital giving histories, planning study responses, and the needs of the parish. Please understand we are not trying to embarrass or offend anyone. Some may not be able to give the full amount we’ve requested. Others may be in a position to exceed that amount. In either case, we are asking you to place St. Leonard at the top of your giving list and to think about the parish like you never have before.

Consider making a gift that reflects an awareness for the blessing in your life and that is meaningful to you. Also, please remember the campaign gift we are asking you to consider is in addition to your normal envelope contribution.

Who will be asked to support the campaign?

Every registered parish family will be asked to consider a gift to the campaign.

As each of us prayerfully considers how we might support Growing with God, may our decisions reflect an awareness of Jesus’ sacrifice for our souls and the abundant blessings He continues to place in each of our lives.
