Deacon Rick, who became a deacon in 2009, has a variety of duties at St. Leonard. "I preach at Mass and perform baptisms. I also am the Director of Vine and Branches, in which we teach the faith to special-needs children. Occasionally, I have also done weddings." Asked what he especially enjoys about St. Leonard, he said, "The people are wonderful here. They have been very helpful and caring toward me and my family."

Deacon Rick grew up in Kenosha at St. Therese Parish as the fourth oldest of six children. He has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Carthage College and received at certificate in pastoral services from St. Francis Seminary.

Deacon Rick and his wife, Mary, have lived in Muskego since 1992. They have two adult children, Michael and Katie. They have a 10 lb. cockapoo named Zoe.

In his spare time, Deacon Rick says "I enjoy most sports, particularly golf, when I can beat Fr. Dan. Pizza and ice cream are my weaknesses. I like reading and being with friends."
