Adult Confirmation
Adult Confirmation is offered to those who seek confirmation
anytime after high school graduation. Adults needing preparation for
confirmation attend classes to ready themselves for the Sacrament which
is celebrated during the Easter Season.
Adult Enrichment
Since 1985, St. Leonard Adult Enrichment has been
offering programs each year. The vision of the Committee is that "all
life is holy" therefore, both religious topics and personal growth
sessions are offered. Parishioners are welcome to offer suggestions
for mini-courses and to volunteer their facilitating skills. Adult faith-sharing
groups have been encouraged and formed by the Committee.
Preschool Religious Education Go
to Top
Sunday preschool is a "religion readiness"
program that stresses the goodness of the child, the goodness in the
child's surroundings and the goodness of God. The curriculum is structured
but fun. Sunday preschool is an age appropriate alternative to the Sunday
Mass. The classes are geared for preschoolers, ages three to five and
are held during the 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass.
Elementary Religious Education
Jesus' ministry was and continues to be Worship, Word and Service.
Catechesis (learning the Church Tradition and applying it to life today)
is the task of the elementary program for children after preschool through
sixth grade. The latest publication of This is Our Faith textbook
series is used. Catechesis is seen as having a four-fold task.
- Message: To proclaim Christ's message
and pass on the Church's teaching
- Community: To foster and develop community
- Worship: To lead children to personal and liturgical prayer
- Service: To motivate and provide opportunities for children to serve
those in need and to learn skills to promote a just and peaceful world.
Christian Initiation for Adults
(RCIA) Go
to Top
For those wishing to join the Church, the Christian
Initiation process can be begun at anytime throughout the year. At an
initial discussion, determination is made of the needs of the individual
and the processes explained more thoroughly. Our inquiry sessions are
held in a small group setting on alternate Mondays and the next stage,
or catechumenate, meets weekly during and after the 9:00 a.m. Mass on
Sundays. Interested parish members are invited to sponsor candidates
through the process.
Christian Initiation for Children
(Children's RCIA)
Classes for children's instruction meet from late
October until Holy Saturday and are for children who have had their
religious education delayed and who desire to receive the Sacraments
of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation). Children preparing
for these sacraments also attend parish religious education classes
or attend the day school.
St. Leonard School
Go to Top
St. Leonard School, serving the Muskego community
since 1958, provides education for grades K-8. The staff focuses on
all aspects of the child's development: intellectual, social, physical,
moral and spiritual. As a result of the academic standards at St. Leonard,
a significant number of graduates earn academic honors in high school.
Vines & Branches
Jesus calls us all to live in Him, to realize our
full potential as members of the Christian Community. Vines and Branches
answers that call by providing a program of faith development and
religious education to persons with disabilities. Children and adults
who are mentally retarded, emotionally disturbed, behaviorally disordered,
or learning disabled are invited to join.
Youth Ministry Go
to Top
St. Leonard prepares youth for life as adult Catholics
through faith enrichment, prayer experience, confirmation readiness,
and the celebration of sacraments (reconciliation, Mass and confirmation)
at the appropriate age levels.
